They were a group of twenty men camped at the bottom of a valley. Crowstone led the way. He cast a web of magic that sent half of them instantly to sleep. The others he tackled one on one as they progressed. Kalar engaged the men in combat, dealt each one a swift, clean death.
Thacnor strode through the alarm and confusion with a hardened grin etched into his face.
“Old timer!” he yelled at Crowstone. “We are well met again, I see!”
Crowstone raised his staff. Thacnor threw a knife that pierced Crowstone’s mid-section.
